Position: Credit Controller



Working hours: 37.5 hours/week

We have an exciting opportunity for a Credit Controller to join our Finance Department, based at our Head Office in Telford. Working within the Credit Control team you will be managing a B2B sales ledger ensuring outstanding debts are paid to agreed terms, service issues are resolved and business objectives in terms of our collection strategy and customer service standards are achieved.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • Make outbound calls/email contact with customers, striving to hit team targets and achieve set KPIs
  • Deal with incoming telephone and email queries
  • Maximise the collection of overdue monies within the assigned account base in accordance with the collection procedures currently in place
  • Identify risk that could result in bad debt
  • Maintain accurate customer records
  • Facilitate the resolution of all service issues that are preventing customers paying the Company
  • Follow correct policies in the escalation through to legal action if required
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that debt collection is maximised

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of working in a Credit Control role is ideal but not essential
  • Experience of working in a busy and fast-moving office environment is essential
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate your message to customers and colleagues
  • Good level of I.T skills (MS Excel)
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to plan and organise own workload
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Must enjoy working as part of a team
