Service Charge Accountant - Hertford

Salary £30,000 +

Pear recruitment are currently looking for a Service Charge Accountant to join our client, a thriving Property Management company based in Hertford. We are looking for candidates who can be responsible for ensuring the service charge accounts ledgers are maintained to a high standard, preparing and presenting to internal and external stakeholders the service charge financial & management accounting reports and seeing them through to completed certification /audit. You will pay an important part in the team assisting the service charge accounts team and taking over more technical queries and tasks.

Key Responsibility:

• Calculate and enter accruals and prepayment journals.

• Prepare financial management reports

• Explain the meaning of the numbers to stakeholders, including analysis

• Reconcile supplier accounts, inparticularutility suppliers.

• Calculate the billing and reconcile non budgeted utility and insurance re-charges.

• Develop and maintain client relationships and confidence.

• Visit sites tobuildknowledge and attend clientmeetingsas required.

• Prepare useable and informative budget templates.

• Provide financial insight and assist theProperty Managers with preparation of their budgets.

• At the year-end ensure the ledgers are in good order and prepare high quality accountinginformation on accruals basis & liaise with the property managers and accountants to obtaincertified/auditedaccounts.

• To understand and be able to do all aspects of the service charge accounts administrator role.

• To assist with holidays / sick cover and ensure a thorough understanding of the processes toassist anddevelop process controls to preventproblems occurringand maintain the integrityofthe accounting ledgers.

• Work with the PM's and service charge accounts team and managers to create practicaldocumented information of how the buildings work and interpret that into financial information.

• Ensuring the service charge accounts team are effective and productive, including mentoringand training of existing and new staff.

• Act as an on-boarder working with the PM department to bring on new buildings beforehanding themoff totheday-to-day team onceestablished.

• Work with the Financial Controller to set up newbuildings and reconcile new buildings data.

• Checking Any other dutiesasreasonablyrequiredtoensurethesuccess,accuracy andtimelinessoftheservicecharge accounts team.
