JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this role is to assist with all financial operations within the department and providing support to other Finance Office staff.

This includes duties such as raising invoices and allocating payments via electronic methods. The role will also involve supporting the Finance team with the collection of tuition fees (including credit control), monitoring of instalment plans and student loans payments and raising of invoices to employers and commercial customers.

You will carry out clerical duties and provide accounts/administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office. You will support managers and employees through a variety of tasks related to organisation and communication. You will communicate via phone and email ensuring that all administrative duties are completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner.

Your role responsibilities will also include assisting with purchase ledger including coding invoices, dealing with invoice queries and setting up new suppliers and assisting with all administration duties.

This role is predominantly office-based at our Broadstairs College Campus (Ramsgate Road, Broadstairs, CT10 1PN) though homeworking for a portion of the weekly hours can be discussed.


The salary for this role is the National Minimum Wage for the age of the successful candidate:

21-22-Year-Old Rate £8.36
18-20-Year-Old Rate £6.56
16-17-Year-Old Rate £4.62

SKILLS NEEDED
The ideal candidate will have good Microsoft Office skills, interpersonal and communication skills as well as good administrative and organisational skills.
The ability to use initiative is beneficial as well as a flexible approach to work.
The finance team handle important and sensitive information, so it is critical all members of the team can maintain confidentiality.

A level 2 qualification in Maths and English and previous experience of office work is desirable but not essential.

25 hrs per week Flexible standard office hours Mon - Thursday: 08.30 - 17.00, Friday: 08.30 - 16.30

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
We will ensure there is full training in place as appropriate to the role. As a Kickstart provider we will ensure that the young person at the start of employment, the candidate and employer will be invited to an online discovery session. The aim of this session is to provide information and guidance, and to explore the skills development, learning and support needs of the candidate. 2. Two-day employability workshop This two-day workshop will take place midway through the placement and will focus on equipping the candidate with essential employability skills such as CV writing, interview techniques and career planning and the importance of timekeeping. 3. Evaluation and feedback session at the end of the programme, the candidate and employer will be invited to an online evaluation and feedback session. This session is an opportunity to reflect on the placement experience, review the candidate's self-assessment and progress, and to identify the next steps and support required moving forward. The young person will be supported throughout the programme with a view guide them to apply for and secure sustainable employment.
