Financial Controller | Global Business | Swadlincote | £55,000 - £60,000

I am currently working on a position offering the opportunity to work with a growing and successful, Global Manufacturing business based in Burton-on-Trent.

This Financial Controller is a fantastic opportunity for a fully qualified accountant to take the next step in their career. You will be someone who has excellent attention to detail and a hard-working attitude. As a Financial Controller, you will support the Finance Director and operational stakeholders in being at the heart of the business, ensuring timely reporting of the consolidated actual performance, forecasts and targets whilst supporting the operations with analysis, advice and tools to optimize performance.

What is the job?

  • Achieve the business objectives by understanding the business drivers and provide efficient, reliable and proactive financial support and analysis to the Finance Director and wider Management Team
  • Drive manufacturing teams to achieve continuous improvement through effective finance management and communication of the business' key performance results.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of commercial awareness in terms of customer requirements, reducing costs and increasing overall value of finance management.
  • Ensure on-going compliance with all relevant policies and reporting timescales and organise resources to ensure timely and accurate completion of all reporting requirements both internal and external.
  • Drive/facilitate relevant business projects to optimize and challenge business performance.
  • Establish and maintaining good working relationships with
    • Stakeholders across all locations for the Business Entity
    • Major suppliers and customers as appropriate to develop business
    • Shared service centre
    Maintain and improve internal controls to ensure safeguarding of assets and reliability of financial information.Ensure compliance with all appropriate financial and statutory regulations.Resolve all accounting / finance related issues.Take an integral role in the implementation and use of the Entity's chosen ERP solution.Ensure reporting capabilities of the ERP system are maximized.In association with the Finance Director assess all requests for capital expenditure.Coach, mentor, motivate finance team members, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.Comply with finance management processes and tools and improve business performance

    What are you like?

    • Hold a professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
    • Strong analytical, scenario analysis and modelling skills.
    • Ideally have experience in a Manufacturing finance environment
    • Excellent communication, influencing and problem-solving skills
    • Proficient user of common analytical tools including Excel, Powerpoint
    • Critical thinking skills and the ability to connect and explain linkage between drivers and outputs.
    • Ability to prioritise and to operate effectively in a fast moving, global environment with tight deadlines.
