We have a diverse client base across a number of industries. We provide a personalised service with regular interaction between our team and the client's team.

Kreston KZN has a vacancy for an Audit and Assurance Manager in our Assurance Division at our Durban office.

The Audit and Assurance Manager oversees and ensures that the project runs efficiently and profitably from inception to sign-off by managing all the relevant stakeholders in accordance with the firm's policies and procedures. In addition, the Audit and Assurance Manager further supports the Engagement Partner with clients' commercial management and business development initiatives.

You will be performing mainly assurance duties but will be required to perform other duties such as accounting, consulting and taxation.

Reporting to the Partners you will be responsible for:

* Accurate and timeous planning of engagements.
* Management and the execution of engagements.
* Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards, International Financial Reporting Standards for small and medium sized entities, Companies Act of South Africa, International Standards on Auditing and the Income tax act.
* Managing staff movements on and off the job and timeously communicate to all relevant parties.
* Provide regular reports to the Partner on the status of the engagements.
* Manage and control staff allocations on engagements.
* Ensure completion and finalisation of engagements
* Building of effective relationships with clients and staff.
* Ensure exceptional client service.
* Decide on audit appropriateness of the engagement opinion by resolving issues which might impact on the engagement opinion and ensuring that these are brought to the attention of the engagement partner and documentation thereof.
* Manage the client and ensure that the engagements is delivered within the scope agreed on
* Draft reports to management on internal control deficiencies, other audit findings and advises management on the systems
* Review engagement files in accordance with quality control requirements.
* Negotiating budgets/fees and overruns for clients once fee base has been agreed with the partner
* Managing WIP, write offs, fee queries and debtors
* Deal effectively with technical client issues and resolves same timeously.
* Timeous and accurate billing of clients
* Take ownership and accountability for engagements.
* Ensure that clients' compliance needs are met.
* Mentoring of trainees
* Timeous completion of performance reviews, ANAs, TSRs and PSRs
* Research complex topics and train staff accordingly.
