CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER
Reporting to the Managing Director, this position is central to the development and implementation of investments and client relationship management strategies in accordance with BDC's mandate and strategy - locally, regionally and internationally. A dedicated focus to execute sustainable, commercially viable, and profitable investments to maximize shareholder returns is required.
As the driver of revenue and operations, your responsibilities will include: Execution of BDC corporate strategy; formulating market research and deal origination; identify investment opportunities, modelling and appraisal, due diligence, divestment, and risk management. You will be highly competent in the utilization and structuring of various instruments, including debt, mezzanine and equity. Ultimately, you will invest in sustainable and profitable businesses and assets in Botswana and across the world.
Qualifying Criteria
You will possess a Masters' degree or advanced training in Finance, Business, Economics / Commerce and/or ACCA, CFA or CIMA with a proven investment track record. To succeed in this highly strategic role, you will have a minimum of 10 years' experience in the financial services sector with at least 5 years being in a senior / executive management role overseeing private equity, venture capital, development finance and investments.
