Role Summary
Assist in control of all financial functions within Shelby Foam Systems and Chemical Technologies. Assist in reporting accurate and timely deliverables both internally and externally. Support of development, implementation, and maintenance of all finance systems and procedures. Protect the interests of the employees and the Division in accordance with the Corporate Constitution, Company policies, and Magna Employee's Charter Principles.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial deliverables
  • Management of month-end closing process, and subsequent schedule preparation and submission
  • Variance analysis vs budgets and forecasts
  • Maintenance of account reconciliations and monitoring activity in balance sheet accounts
  • Cash forecasting and application
  • Fixed Assets accounting and management of periodic fixed assets physical inventory
  • Tooling cost tracking and reporting
  • Product costing and inventory valuation
  • Gross margin and program analysis
  • Support cost reduction initiatives as required
  • Assist with quarterly forecasting and annual budget preparation and submission
  • Assist with annual preparation of annual audit files and tax deliverables
  • Support for development, implementation, and maintenance of systems and procedures for accurate and timely reporting
  • Serve as backup to other roles within the finance department
  • Support of all cross functional teams as required
  • Other duties as assigned by controller or general management
Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with a CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred but not required.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in accounting to include management of full company financial statements at month-end and year-end cutoffs, demonstrate proficiency in reporting to upper management, participation in the year-end auditing process, budgeting and forecasting, development cost containment systems, researching, and analyzing cost containment/profit improvement systems
  • Strong technical accounting skills of accounting principles and financial analysis specific to a manufacturing environment
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and technical presentations
  • Demonstrate successful performance with independent and team problem solving, leadership, and coordinating and completing multiple tasks within and across departments to meet changing deadlines
  • Advanced MS Excel skills required
