Job Details

Bentley’s legendary history needs no retelling – we’ve been creating extraordinary customer journeys for more than a century. But what will Bentley’s future look like? And could you play a part in shaping it? A transformation is happening, evolution in real time, as we undertake our own extraordinary journey towards becoming the most sustainable luxury automotive brand in the world. This bold vision can’t happen without bright, fresh minds, innovators and disruptors, challengers of preconceptions. Could that be you? We seek motivated and digital-savvy individuals to join us on our journey, to help envision and shape Bentley’s future. If you are interested in building your career in Finance within an extraordinary company, this could be your moment. The perfect chance to make a difference.

EXTRAORDINARY GRADUATE PROGRAMME

The Bentley Graduate Programme is designed to give you a broad experience of the business. Working closely with technical experts, a community of peers and other trainees, you will spend your two years focusing on projects and tasks aligned to your home department’s objectives, while also gaining an understanding of the wider business processes and functions. We encourage Graduates to spend time learning how the product is built in our factory, whilst also recognising the route that a customer order takes to make it to the production line. At Bentley, we ensure everybody feels connected to our amazing products and services - and as an integral part of the team your input will be valued alongside every colleague.

In addition, you will be part of a community of over 150 trainees all working towards the same developmental goals. You will spend time developing your behaviours and project management skills through collaborative work with this community of trainees, from charity work and attraction activity to project management opportunities.

EXTRAORDINARY TEAM

To some companies, finance is used merely to determine what has happened. At Bentley we take a different approach, combining finance and our business strategy to deliver insights determining what is going to happen and help us shape the future. Growth, profitability, controlling and active risk management are all important elements of the work of the Finance teams.  Every department within the company has a finance ‘partner’, a role which involves gaining an in-depth knowledge of our products and how each function contributes, in order to fully understand the funding requirements and assist with long-term planning to maximise performance.

This Graduate will get the opportunity to work in different parts of our finance function. Developing a plan together with the sponsoring manager, you will develop your technical skills through a number of business placements alongside involvement in a range of activities designed to grow your behavioural competencies.

EXTRAORDINARY PEOPLE

We believe that every candidate can make a difference. The difference about working at Bentley is all about questions – not the questions we ask you but the questions you ask us. What kind of future do we want to build? If we can open our minds to new ideas we can create extraordinary journeys, not only for our customers, but also for ourselves.

To apply for this Graduate Programme you must be on course to achieve or have achieved a minimum of a 2:1 degree in a relevant subject area, alongside a pass in Maths and English at GCSE Level.

A successful candidate will:

  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Be a team player, with a keen sense of their own responsibility to the team, the business and themselves
  • Be adaptable, quick-thinking and with an appetite for problem-solving
  • Be excited to take ownership of and deliver projects
  • Be pro-active in pushing new ideas and solutions forward
  • Embrace the challenge of influencing stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Be confident yet open-minded – willing to listen and learn from every Colleague

EXTRAORDINARY BENEFITS

Our aim is to create extraordinary Colleague journeys to support and recognise your valued contribution. The equally high value we place on every individual is underpinned by our culture of diversity and inclusion, which fosters a collaborative environment where everyone is encouraged to be themselves and empowered to be the best they can be.

Your dedication and commitment will be rewarded by a package of benefits including:

  • Flexible working (including support for hybrid working)
  • Guidance and support from a sponsoring manager who is an expert in their field
  • Access to our colleague car scheme
  • Access to a network of Bentley specialists to share ideas and support with

Company

Bentley Motors was founded by W.O. Bentley in 1919 when the first Bentley engine burst into life at New Street Mews, London.

From these modest beginnings, W.O’s company went from strength to strength through the 1920s, with an evolving series of acclaimed motor cars and a parade of racing triumphs to prove their outstanding performance. These laurels were capped with five outright victories at Le Mans between 1924 - 1930 and a sixth in 2003.

If we had mission statements in those days, it could not have been expressed more eloquently than in the words of W.O. himself, “To build a fast car, a good car, the best in its class”.

These words are just as relevant today as they continue to inform our beliefs, actions and ambitions for the future. Located in Crewe, England since 1946 and owned since 1998 by Volkswagen AG, Bentley Motors is dedicated to making responsive and powerful Grand Tourers with the stamina to cross continents at pace, and drive in refined comfort and style.
