Holmes Peat Thorpe | LMJ Chartered Accountant is hiring for the position of Assistant Ac-countant - part/full-time to provide accounting, tax and audit support with other related ac-tivities undertaken by the company where required. ResponsibilitiesThe role holder should have clear understanding and demonstrable experience of accounting and tax compliance requirements. He/she will be responsible for supporting Account Man-ager on a set of client portfolio from various sectors, predominately the responsibilities will include:

• Accounts preparation and filling for sole traders, partnerships and Limited Companies under UK HMRC & Company Law requirements;
• Personal Tax Returns
• Corporation Tax Returns
• Payroll Management and reporting;
• Value Added Tax -VAT returns;
• Providing support on audit and Independent Reviews
• Supporting a varied portfolio of clients.Assisting with the development of the business Essential Requirements require:
• Proven experience from a practice background;
• Able to produce & file set of accounts;
• Able to produce company tax computations and file returns independently;
• Able to complete personal tax returns independently;
• Demonstrable experience with accounting/tax software's for account production and fillings including Xero, QuickBooks, SAGE, VT etc.;
• Minimum 2 years' hands on experience with a reputable practice;

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• 2+ years of experience in related field
