Sr. Accountant (Project/Operational/Revenue)

We’re currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Headquarters team!

The Senior Accountant will have a solid foundation in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to build new controls and processes related to revenue and cash reporting. In this position, you must be knowledgeable in accounting, while also enjoying data, handling reconciliations, and taking ownership of key financial processes. We are seeking a Senior Accountant that is not only driven by data, but also enjoys working in a collaborative team environment. You are the subject matter expert and influence key high visibility company-wide initiatives.

What you will do:

• Drive and produce the accurate and timely reporting of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, as well as be ready to jump in on a host of other accounting responsibilities.
• Maintain high ethical accounting standards.
• Partner across the business to drive financial and accounting responsibility and objectives.
• Create budget to actual reporting for high profile capital projects.
• Lead effort to enhance internal accounting policies and procedures through detailed research and memos.
• Identify, design, and implement process improvements
• Roll-up-your-sleeves as part of a collaborative team handling all accounting transactions, inclusive of preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain open lines of communication with stakeholders inside and outside of the Finance department.

How you will shine:

• 5+ years’ experience in industry accounting and/or 3+ years of public accounting/big 4
• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Active CPA strongly preferred but not required
• Strong knowledge and experience with GAAP, including researching technical accounting issues
• Proven ability to analyze and improve processes
• SOX experience a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with exemplary interpersonal skills
• Extremely organized, with keen attention-to-detail
• Advanced in Excel, Word, and other Windows based applications
• Working knowledge of Oracle is preferred
• Team player who can work effectively with other departments
• Experience with operational/project or Revenue accounting preferred
