Junior Accountant opportunity with stable manufacturing company. In this role you will have an opportunity to handle administration and implementation of all cost accounting and analysis.
You will perform month-end close activities including reconciling inventory, labor, material, inventory reserves and inventory absorption. You will also manage reconciliation of all AP and AR accounts, cash management including cash flow reporting, preparation of expense allocations, identification and processing of operating and recurring COGS accruals. You will also prepare and manage accrual schedules to ensure accurate financial close including tie-out of sub ledger, AP and AR reports and monthly expenditure analysis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION, TRAINING, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
You will perform month-end close activities including reconciling inventory, labor, material, inventory reserves and inventory absorption. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review, update and maintain cost roll ups in ERP system, ensuring that inventory is properly valued and standards are accurately set
- Planning, Studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor
- Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost
- Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
- Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services
- Maintaining Cost Accounting System
- Month end close of the General Ledger:
- Month end close, reconcile AR to the GL
- Reconciles finished goods inventories
EDUCATION, TRAINING, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting and at least 1 year in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Must have a strong cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills
- Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Computer Literate Strong Excel skills and the ability to use Outlook and Word
- Experience with IQMS a plus
- Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards
- Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
