RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client, a NYC based contractor is seeking a Staff Accountant - AR/AP to join their team in New York, NY. This is a great opportunity to join a successful family-run business, working closely with the owner while taking on as much responsibility as possible. Essential Duties of the Staff Accountant:

• In the role of Staff Accountant, you will process, verify, and post customer payments, maintain records regarding payments and account statuses
• Research and resolve account discrepancies, resolve deductions by entering adjusting entries
• The Staff Accountant you will work with the collections department to review accounts and client payments to assist in reducing accounts receivable aging
• Generate reports and statements as required
• As the Staff Accountant, you will assist in other areas including Accounts payable, bank recs and more
• Perform administrative and clerical tasks as needed

Job Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Accounting or related field
• 3+ years of related experience in AR and/or AP; QuickBooks a must; Simpro software a big plus
• High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability
• Excellent communication, research, problem solving, and time management skills
• Ability to build relationships with clients and internal departments
