We are currently looking to extend our service provision to new and existing clients and are therefore looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic bookkeeper to join our accounts team to help us grow this new function.

The role
  • Process client transactions using various bookkeeping software in line with UK GAAP (predominantly Xero, but also Quickbooks, Freeagent).
  • Utilise data capture software such as DEXT for efficient transaction processing.Review and submit client VAT Returns.Run monthly/annual payroll for clients with maximum of 50 employees.Develop successful relationships with clients for which you have client contact, ensuring high standards of service are maintained, and client satisfaction optimised.Support clients with advice regarding cashflow, managing debtors and creditors.Provide training and advice to clients and staff on matters associated with bookkeeping, payroll, VAT Returns.Prepare simple financial statements, as required.Work with other departments and accounts team members to ensure joined up service and "one team" approach.Control client work in relation to timescales and client perceptions and ensure all relevant members of staff are informed of client issues. Adhere to internal and risk management procedures of the firm and specifically those of the accounts department.Assist with ad hoc administrative tasks, including support with the telephone overflow system.Carry out any other duties to meet with the needs of the business.Desired skillsAAT level 3 or qualified by experience.3-5 years' experience working in a bookkeeping role.Proficient in Xero.Strong verbal communication skills.High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Ability to work in a team.Ability to manage own portfolio of clients including correspondence, telephone calls and ensuring relevant file notes are completed and filed on CCH.
