Butler Rose, a specialist finance recruitment agency, is currently supporting the MD of a successful industry leading construction / manufacturing SME business based in Central Bedfordshire, to recruit a Finance Manager.

The successful candidate will head up the finance function and become a partnering facility to operations and the commercial departments. This is a permanent opportunity office based and will report directly into the MD and Shareholders.

This is an exciting opportunity to become a business partner to the directors / stakeholders and expand your knowledge in key project accounting processes. You will be passionate about data and how it can be transformed into key insights to positively change a business. You will showcase interpersonal and communication skills with both technical and non-technical individuals.

The role will also involve the maintenance and upgrade of Sage Eque2, assisting to streamline accounts and build robust reports, therefore, an analytical mind and experience in EValuate (cost and planning) / Eque2 Construction accounts software would be a major advantage.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Management of a small team of transactional finance staff
* Full production of monthly management accounts (including P&L, B/S, etc)
* Perform variance analysis and analysis
* Prepare VAT and end of tax year PIID reporting
* Manage Annual Budget process and provide quarterly forecast updates
* Fix Assets records and monthly depreciation
* Cash Flow Forecasting
* Preparation and submission of CIS returns
* Participation in projects representing the accounting Team
* Prepare Payroll and associated reconciliations
* Manage annual review and preparation of statutory accounts by accountants

The Successful Applicant
* QBE or a Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA /CIMA) with 3-5 years experience
* Have knowledge of working in the construction/ property or manufacturing Industry - Essential
* Have strong IT skills, particularly MS Excel - Essential
* SAGE EQUE2 / EValuate software - Advantage
* Analytical mindset with the ability to understand the business and assist in implementing the strategic goals of the business
* Have knowledge of working within a SME where substantial growth and change has impacted a business
