Financial Management Accountant - Meath County Council

 

 

Meath County Council is a major local employer in County Meath with approximately 880 staff currently employed and a revenue budget of €155 million. The Council has responsibility for the delivery of a wide range of public services in the area with a focus on making the county, our towns and countryside attractive places to live, work and invest. The Council provides the wide range of services including housing provision, planning & development, roads & transportation, environmental protection & climate action; recreation & amenities and community infrastructure. The Council also plays a key role in facilitating and supporting economic development and enterprise at a local and regional level.

 

 

A vacancy now exists in Meath County Council for the role of Financial Management Accountant

 

 

 

This position is a senior position within the Finance Function reporting to the Head of Finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for modernising and managing change in the finance function.  They will be responsible for introduction of new initiatives, policies and procedures and working with multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and progressive Local Authority which provides a multiplicity of services to the County.

 

 

The successful candidate will:

 

 

 

  • Possess a professional accountancy qualification and be a member of a recognised body of accountants, and
  • Have satisfactory experience of accountancy work, including management accounting and/or financial accounting.
  • Be experienced in the management of staff, and
  • Possess knowledge of public sector finance.
