CFS is engaged with a successful and growing beverage wholesaler seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to assist in managing the day to day accounting duties including but not limited to overseeing income and expenses, managing cash, ensuring regulatory compliance, and other projects as assigned by the President and COO. This role is part of a succession plan for the current Controller. The company is a proud distributor of domestic, import, craft beers and ciders throughout New Haven, Fairfield, Litchfield and Hartford County. Responsibilities:

• Manage and perform all accounting operations including account payable processing and reporting, journal entry and cost processing and reporting
• Prepare and close monthly and year financials on a timely basis
• Bank reconciliations
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
• Primary liaison with outside accountants for year end review and tax preparation
• Oversight of payroll and accounts payables function
• Develop and document business process and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Utilize process to advise owners on ways to maximize profits
• Manage and file all regulatory documents
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators on a real time basis

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years of financial oversight and functional accounting responsibilities
• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with creating financial statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month- end/ year end close process
• Experience using integrated accounting software
• Experience in wholesale beverage distribution a plus
• Bachelor's Degree
