The Opportunity

Due to a change in legislation, this team is rapidly expanding to deliver a critical compliance function. The multiple roles are being offered as either a s26 permanent transfer or 12 month non-ongoing contract with the view to permanency.

Whilst the role is at APS6 level, this is also an opportunity for a high performing APS5 to have a 12 month acting opportunity.

You will be doing external audits on interesting subject matter and will have a holistic view of high profile organisations across Australia. This is a rare role in external audit that provides a consistent work/life balance and workload across the year.

You are working for a strong performing Director and Assistant Directors who are highly approachable, supportive and engaged with their team. They are solutions focused and no problem is too big.

The Role

• Perform all phases of compliance and performance audit activities including development of audit plans and audit programs, conduct audit fieldwork, drafting of audit reports, and management of stakeholders
• Perform project and evidence-based research work and investigations
• Apply critical and strategic thinking skills to identify issues and solve problems
• Possess leadership and staff management skills to develop and manage APS4 and APS5 staff capability and performance, drive change, and support a positive workplace culture
• Document and maintain accurate records

Your Background and Experience

You are an experienced External Auditor and you are likely working in the APS, Big 4 or a mid tier firm, and looking for a change.

You desire to work for the one client as you are seeking to make a greater impact beyond the cycle of reports and recommendations.

You exhibit a consultative and collaborative approach to your communication, and are happy working with all levels of the organisation to understand their challenges.

You gather evidence, perform high level analysis, make recommendations for change, and then negotiate outcomes that clearly improve the organisations you work for.

Salary / Rate

• $84K - 94K + 15.4% Super
• Central Canberra location
• Permanent s26 transfer
• Opportunity to act up to APS6 level for a strong APS5
• OR 12 month non-ongoing contract with view to permanency
