The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Australian commercial team as a Senior Tax Consultant for a 9-month fixed term contract. As BlueScope continues to grow we need to ensure we have the right mindsets, capabilities and skills to create and inspire smart solutions in steel to strengthen our communities for the future.

Reporting to the Tax Manager, you will leverage your expert tax knowledge and your technical, organisational and communication skills to support delivery of tax compliance and advice. There is also the opportunity to leverage your digital literacy skills to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Australian tax function.

This role could be based in our Adelaide, Sydney or Melbourne offices.

What Will You Do?

As a subject matter expert in taxation, you will:

• Prepare Australian direct and indirect tax returns, including corporate income tax, FBT and GST
• Prepare monthly tax effect calculations and quarterly deferred tax proofs
• Identify opportunities and embrace technology to improve tax processes and procedures
• Assist with the resolution of enquiries from Australian tax authorities

More About You

With your technical tax knowledge and your passion for process excellence, you will bring:

• proven ability to deliver on tax compliance and reporting
• a passion for understanding and using data and technology to deliver improvements in business performance improvement
• Bachelor's degree in commerce / business or law
