One of Europe's fastest growing companies are looking to recruit a Financial Analyst FP&A to join the commercial Finance Team and to work on a hybrid basis home office and at their offices near Ipswich, Suffolk

Your new role
The Financial Analyst FP&A will report into the Financial Controller will be part of the newly created FP&A function and the wider finance team, and critical in embedding a culture of performance management across the Group, by driving visibility and accountability through improved financial reporting and analysis.

The financial processes and information will be continually developed to aid decision-making across the business, up to and including Board level.
The role will provide monthly reports on financial performance against budgets and forecast, create business focused analysis, capture and report relevant underlying KPI's, and provide support for Board reporting. It will also support the FP&A function in developing the budgeting and forecasting processes across the organisation.

The position will work closely with the FP&A and Commercial Lead, and wider finance team, Sales Director, Sales Leads and will also interact with budget holders across the organisation.
Key responsibilities

  • Supporting production of the monthly board report and high level commentary including rolling forward the forecasting model.
  • Supporting the existing monthly re-forecast and delivering the FY22 Budget process.
  • Setting up cost centres in the SAGE accounting system, creating, producing and distributing monthly cost centre overhead reports to budget holders. Setting up follow up reviews explain results, including analysis and commentary.
  • Working closely with sales administration to develop Salesforce reporting capability for the weekly Sales meetings, including analysing the sales pipeline, liaising with sales leads to ensure data is accurate and ensuring integration with finance forecasting processes and systems.
  • Developing a process for capturing and reporting headcount information across the organisation.
  • Taking ownership of and develop the monthly forecasting model for P&L, Cashflow and Balance Sheet.
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders to develop a five-year plan model identifying key levers and metrics.
  • Working closely with the FP&A and Commercial Finance lead to establish new FP&A budgeting and forecasting processes including implementing a new planning systems.
  • Using the centralised financial systems, to integrate the wider departments' management information, creating and embedding meaningful KPIs and performance management measures to inform all stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement across Group financial systems, controls and processes
  • Working with the all stakeholders to continuously improve Group reporting through use of KPI's, internal and external financial and non-financial information, systems and technology utilization.
  • Maintaining a constant review of internal Group reporting capability and ways of working to continuously improve efficiency through use of technology, information flows, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Driving high quality analysis and commentary on management information ahead of Board meetings and other management meetings.
  • Working closely with the FP&A and Commercial Finance Lead, the finance function and external suppliers to review and develop management reporting systems and capability.



What you'll need to succeed
Reporting directly into the FP&A and Commercial Lead, this is a key position and part of a newly established FP&A team. As the finance processes are currently in a period of transition, this offers an excellent opportunity to make an immediate contribution to shaping the financial and management reporting. The role requires someone to build and create spreadsheet reports and presentations, manipulating data from financial systems, as well as be comfortable working with senior finance and non-finance colleagues. The profile of the ideal candidate for this role is as follows:
Preferred

  • Strong exposure to IT systems and applications. Comfortable interrogating and extracting information from databases.
  • Has experience of working with senior finance and non-finance people.
  • Newly qualified CIMA preferred but open to ACCA/ACA. Graduate welcome but again not essential.
  • Exposure to financial accounting systems, has previous experience of creating Excel-based finance reports.
  • Excellent MS Office skills, including creating and manipulating Excel Look Ups, Pivot Tables, SUMIF, Graphical presentation (VBA/Macros not essential).
  • Create and own and develop, financial models in excel.
  • Excellent communication and presentational skills.
  • Ability to present and explain financial terms to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dedication to providing great customer service.
  • Willing to travel on an occasional basis.
