This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Risk & Intelligence Manager to further develop the capability of an already high performing team with a key focus on building business continuity through cross training members of the team on the various R&I workstreams.

Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team:
You will be joining a team that is deeply passionate about the work they do, driven by a desire to ensure fair access to funded health services for all. The team is responsible for ensuring intelligence is properly gathered and analysed to provide assurance that New Zealand's public health funding goes to the services and people intended. The team undertakes data analytics (across the various health funding streams) to identify high-risk areas and to inform and direct where Audit & Compliance allocates its finite audit and investigative resources, to deliver an efficient and focused annual risk-based audit and investigative work programmed

Te whainga poto o tēnei tūranga - What is the purpose of this position?:
This position comes about because of the pending retirement of the previous R&I Manager. As part of the succession plan for this vital role, you will be supported and inducted by the previous manager for a period of up to 12 months upon taking up the position. The previous manager has been employed as a Principle Advisor over that period to support both the new manager and the wider R&I team. Reporting to the Group Manager, Audit & Compliance. Some regular (typically monthly) travel to Wellington will provide some variety to the role where you will meet with key internal stakeholders and support a staff member based in Wellington.

Ngā Pūkenga me ngā Wheako - Skills & Experience:
To be considered for this position, you will be someone who has:

* Extensive experience in managing a team of risk and intelligence analysts in a regulatory environment ideally involved in financial claims/criminal frauds, with experience in criminal trials, and knowledge of the criminal intelligence process.
* Experience in influencing people, leading work programmes and change management.
* Proven record of providing high quality risk and assurance advice on emerging pan organisational issues.
* The ability to unify, coach, train and lead a diverse team in a pressured environment.
* Experience and/or training in computer forensics
* Superior computer and database skills (including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and SQL)
* Eligibility to obtain a Secret level security clearance

You'll also be contributing to various Ministry wide projects and programmes of work including the development of new health provider payment systems and new commissioning arrangements.
