Our client, a rapidly growing property management company, headquartered in midtown Atlanta, is seeking an Assistant Controller will provide hands-on accounting expertise and team leadership, supporting the CFO and the COO to handle the finance and accounting functions of the Company. The Assistant Controller reports directly to the COO and offers a clear path of progression to leadership roles within the company.

Responsibilities:

• Supervision of the monthly close process and employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budgeting duties - desire to manage and mentor a team
• Responsible for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Period-end Close and Reporting processes
• Enhance current practices and policies to support an organization with double digit growth
• Prepares internal financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from all departments
• Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files and reconciling accounts
• Applies knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Follows up and problem-solves on all matters requiring attention, coordinating with resources from across the company to deliver desired outcomes

Requirements:

• BS in Accounting or Finance and 6+ years of accounting experience
• Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel
• Experience with QuickBooks
• Customization and implementation of financial accounting software applications strongly preferred
• Hotel accounting or real estate property management accounting experience a plus
