My client in Doral is currently seeking experienced individuals with all Bookkeeping and Accounting functions of the NVOCC/Freight Forwarding business.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Make and Record Deposits & Transfers
- Record Credit Card payments
- Review bills and requisitions for payment approval
- Reconcile customer shipments/invoicing with freight invoices and drop shipments to ensure all invoicing is captured in A/R.
- Review & verify current Employees on insurance bills.
- Enter A/P invoices within 2 days of receipt.
- Prepare checks and mail prior to due date. Take early payment discounts when possible.
- Prepare and enter Workers Compensation Journal Entry
- Prepare and process Monthly/Quarterly Sales Tax Returns
- Verify that all details on Sales Order matches Customer PO.
- Daily A/R Collection on past due accounts
- Evaluate new customer credit applications and Process Customer Credit memos
- Send Daily Open Sales Activity Report to CEO Daily
Qualifications:
- Computing skills, including the ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheet and word-processing programs
- At least two years of accounting experience is needed.
- Experience in a management capacity is preferred.
- Experience with multi-entity organizations is a plus.
- Experience within Freight Forwarding/NVOCC is a plus
- Experience with Freight Stream is a plus and at least intermediate Excel skills are required.
- Ability to maintain general ledgers
- Competency in Microsoft office
- Must be able to speak Spanish or English.
- Able to work overtime when needed
- Able to work the schedule: 8- 5:00 p.m.
