About the role
A unique career opportunity has arisen for an Audit Assistant Manager to join our dynamic SDB Group Corporate Assurance Division (GCAD) located in Archerfield, QLD. This role is a permanent full-time position involving working from Monday to Friday.

The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Audit Manager and Head of Group Corporate Assurance to lead the audit review for our Industrial and Motors entities, across our Industrial and Motors operations in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, New Caledonia and New Zealand, from planning through to reporting and following up management action plans in accordance with the GCAD methodology. You will also be involved in the development of the annual GCAD plan and budgets based on a set of formulated review strategies in view of the business risks.

Reporting to the Audit Manager, you will also be required to:
  • Lead the end-to-end execution of the assigned job portfolio based on review strategies formulated in the annual GCAD plan and in accordance with organisational methodologies.
  • Continuously engage with internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain strong relationship to achieve higher productivity and efficiency.
  • Review and ensure that all issues and recommendations are of the highest standards, appropriately profiled and effectively communicated with the clients, Manager(s) and Head, verbally and by way of reports.
  • Ensure effective closure of all issues reviewed and reported and re-assess management action plans for effective and timely implementation
  • Conduct relevant training for team members and other GCAD personnel to facilitate knowledge and career development.
  • Enhance the GCAD's practice within the assigned portfolio to achieve operational efficiency and effectiveness of the team's functions through continuous improvements aligned to Department and Group strategy and directives.
About you
As an Audit Assistant Manager, you will have 6 to 8 years of internal Audit experience working within large diverse organisation(s), particularly Mining, Heavy Equipment, Automotive Industries.

You will have outstanding interpersonal skills that will foster collaborative working relationships across all our client groups with the ability to understand customer expectations, required service standards and manage to deliver to these within agreed timeframes.

Requirements
The successful applicant will have the following skills, experience, and attributes:
  • 6-8 years' experience in internal audit in a large diverse organisation and/or professional accounting firm
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Accounting or related discipline
  • Professional qualifications (CPA, CA, CIA, MIA, ASCPA, IIA, ACCA)
  • Experience managing a team of 2-3 staff and reporting to a supervisor in different geographical jurisdiction
  • Established knowledge of accounting and database systems with an ability to understand new system environments
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Experience in using an Audit Management System i.e. Teammate+ is desirable
  • Experienced in Data Analytics and relevant software i.e. ACL, IDEA utilisation
