A successful and well established company based in Dunstable are recruiting for a Purchase Ledger Manager. The company is the largest independent specialist distributor in their industry and it's a great time to join them. You will be in a friendly and upbeat team of 6 and they are looking for someone with not only the relevant skills and experience, but also a great sense of humour and fun personality!

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accounts payable candidate who ideally comes with good all round accounting knowledge.

  • Key responsibilities

  • Registering/scanning purchase ledger invoices, ensure correct coding
  • Matching invoices - seeking approval from managers
  • Running reports at month end to check anomalies
  • Managing housekeeping and accuracy of purchase ledger accounts
  • Processing rebate estimates / credit notes, notifying key people when received
  • Dealing with system queries as appropriate
  • Reconciling statements accurately, ensuring they are ready in time for payment
  • Preparing weekly/monthly payment runs and processing
  • Expenses
  • Petty Cash
  • Contact for suppliers when chasing payments
  • Dealing with invoice queries
  • New supplier accounts / filling out application forms
  • Assisting the Financial Controller with customer chasing and credit admin
  • What the employer is looking for:

  • Experience within a dedicated purchase ledger role
  • Good all round accounting knowledge desirable
  • Intermediate Excel skills - decent understanding of pivot tables and look up's
  • Tenacious, right first time mentality!
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), good at relationship building
  • Self-motivated with natural organisational and time management skills
  • Hours: 8.30am-5.30pm Monday to Friday (with some flexibility to work from home on a rotational basis)
