Nesco Engineering and IT is currently seeking an experienced Staff Accountant for a full time, 50/50 HYBRID work opportunity in Tucson Arizona. ** Must be Local to Area **

Staff Accountantwill support controller and manage all financial reporting functions for a high volume, professional business services company including the month end close process, general ledger account analysis, reconciliation, budgeting and forecasting, annual audits, and other various accounting projects simultaneously. Must have degree in Accounting OR accredited college with 5 yrs demonstrated professional accounting experience. Astrong understanding of US GAAP, Advanced Excel proficiency is required to work collaboratively with corporate members to achieve department goals while demonstrating both accountability and flexibility to various accounting project needs.

Focus of responsibilities to include:



  • Prepares monthly financial statements for presentation to senior management; this includes, balance sheet account reconciliations; preparing and posting adjusting journal entries and inter-company journal entries;
  • Researching and correcting discrepancies on the general ledger while performingat a high level of proficiency and accuracy.
  • Applies critical thinking and effective problem solving skills to routine tasks, as well as special assignments.
  • Performs bank reconciliations for multiple divisions and all businessentities.
  • Reconciles balance sheet accounts and calculates complex accruals using varied data sources.
  • Reviews the entire GL for variances to budget and historical activities, makes corrections, as required, to support accurate financial statement reporting.
  • Demonstrates ability to present findings to senior management, maintains fixed asset and depreciation schedules; review and validate the system generated depreciation and amortization.
  • Reconciles fixed asset and depreciation schedules to the general ledger.
  • Well experienced with financial audits and all aspects of audit preparation.
  • Responds to and/or assists with various information requests from department managers and the executive team.
Must Demonstrate:Bachelor's degree in Accounting OR Graduation from an accredited college or university with five (5) years of professional accounting experience that includes advanced Microsoft Excel

  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP and working knowledge of general accounting principles, practices and procedures.
  • High attention to detail and ability to be organized.
  • Skilled in the use of ERP systems, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, and Internet Explorer.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel is a must, * *Advanced competency test provided**
