Job Details

We are working with our market-leading Big 4 client to recruit multiple positions into the M&A Tax team. This would suit those with transactions experience, or those from a corporate or indirect tax background looking to move into a Deals space.

Location is flexible throughout Scotland.

Client Details

Our client is a Big 4 accountancy firm. The Deals Tax team works on a wide range of private equity, real estate and other transactions, advising both buyers and sellers on the tax implications of the transactions they undertake.

The team operates on a national basis so you will have access to high-quality work that previously may have only been available in London.

Description

Assistant Manager

  • Work in a team to deliver bespoke tax advice and implications in a fast-paced and evolving deals market
  • Play a key role in developing relationships with clients and junior members of the team
  • Seek specialist input from other parts of tax and wider network - in particular Transaction Service and non-UK teams
  • Be actively involved in business development activities, helping to identify and research opportunities with new and existing clients
  • Use technical knowledge and commercial awareness to help solve important problems for clients
  • Take responsibility for developing your own and the team's technical and business acumen; keeping up to date with business and economic issues, industry insights and sharing your experience and technical knowledge as part of a team.

Manager

  • Managing tax advice and implications on an ever changing deal portfolio.
  • Delivering bespoke tax advice, working closely with other M&A specialists as well as other parts of the business in order to best service your client's needs.
  • Working closely with other members of the team on a wide variety of deals.
  • Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Senior Managers and above
  • Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges
  • Assist in the management and delivering of large projects
  • Be involved in the financial management of clients
  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients
  • Train, coach, and supervise staff, contributing to the development of your own and the team's technical acumen and keeping up to date with business and economic issues
  • Develop internal relationships

Senior Manager

  • Managing tax advice and implications on an ever changing deal portfolio.
  • Delivering bespoke tax advice, working closely with other M&A specialists as well as other parts of the firm in order to best service your client's needs.
  • Working closely with other members of the team on a wide variety of deals.
  • Proactively manage a portfolio of clients
  • Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges
  • Manage and deliver large project
  • Be involved in the financial management of clients
  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients
  • Train, coach, and supervise staff, contributing to the development of your own and the team's technical acumen and keeping up to date with business and economic issues
  • Develop internal relationships

Profile

Assistant Manager

  • Chartered Accountant (ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, CAI) or Chartered Tax Advisor (ATT, CTA) or equivalent international qualification
  • Ability to build internal and external relationships and networks, both within the UK and overseas
  • Developed communication skills, specifically in negotiating with and influencing others
  • Strong analytical, project management and report writing skills.
  • An inquisitive mind and ability to solve problems as part of a diverse team
  • Ability to use tax technical knowledge & insights in a fast paced commercial environment

Manager

  • Chartered Accountant (ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, CAI) or Chartered Tax Advisor (ATT, CTA) or equivalent international qualification
  • Evidence of leading complex M&A projects for key clients
  • Experience of leading and coaching others
  • A track record of successfully building client relationships

Senior Manager

  • Evidence of leading complex M&A projects for key clients
  • Experience of leading and coaching others
  • A track record of successfully generating business through converting leads and developing new business ideas
  • Experience in building and leveraging internal and external relationships and networks
  • An ability to plan and deliver work against tight deadlines
  • Developed communication skills, specifically in negotiating with and influencing others
