Reporting to the Sr Manager of Union Trust Funds & Audits, you would join the team in this newly created General Ledger Accountant position joining our growing organization! You will manage reconciliations of all payroll and prior GL reconciliation is highly desired.

Responsibilities


  • Accurate and timely reconciliation of all payroll, 401k and union fringe benefit accounts
  • Review and respond to union trust fund audits
  • Monitors activity in the assigned accounts
  • Creates journal entries to post activity in the GL
  • Prepares reconciliation of outstanding items
  • Analyzes, researches, and resolves reconciling items cross-functionally
  • Aids in the research and resolution of reconciling items in a timely manner
  • Assists in pulling support for various audits throughout the year
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership



Education, Skills, Experience Needed


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience considered
  • 1+ years of general ledger reconciliation experience
  • Highly proficient in Excel, including pivot tables & Vlookups
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of payroll related account reconciliations preferred
  • Knowledge of union fringe benefit accounting preferred



Working Environment


  • Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
  • Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
  • Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds



Requirements


  • Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
