About the Role:

The Assistant Financial Accountant role is positioned to provide transactional and reconciliation support to the Finance and HR teams for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll activities.

This role is an integral member of the Finance Team and is required to demonstrate good working relationships with staff members. Duties include (but not limited to) efficient management of transactional AP, AR and Payroll activities, management of Balance Sheet reconciliations as well as meeting statutory reporting requirements.

You Will be Responsible for:
  • Accounts Payable activities including Data entry for all invoices, supplier statement reconciliations with associated accruals, preparation of payment runs
  • Prepare and analyse Accounts Receivable invoicing and manage credit control activities
  • Payroll transactional activities including payment file preparation, liaising with HR on queries, Balance Sheet account reconciliations for Superannuation, payroll tax, work cover and clearing accounts
  • Assist with the preparation of Superannuation, Payroll Tax & WorkCover monthly returns
  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of Management Reports
  • Credit Card reconciliation preparation and submission for the DA Management Team, ensuring correct coding of FBT and other expenditure
  • Assistance to the Financial Accountant and Financial Controller as required.

What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • Completion, or near completion of Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Formal work experience within a Finance Team
  • Previous accounts payable & receivable transaction management
  • Ability to navigate Balance Sheet account reconciliations
  • Good grasp of Microsoft Office 365 products, including Excel
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work successfully in both a team and autonomously
  • Possess a proactive mindset.
