Working on an exclusive basis, Hays are delighted to be partnered with a leading charity based in Edinburgh to support in their recruitment for a permanent full time (35 hours a week) Finance Officer. This company has experienced considerable positive growth over the past few years, despite the pandemic, and continue to increase their presence within the not for profit industry. They have achieved recognition through several different awards and I am delighted to be supporting in the growth of their finance function.

Your new role
In your new role, you will be reporting directly into the Head of Finance and positively impacting everyday finance operations. This role will provide a full variety in a beginning to end finance capacity from transactional finance - data entry into Sage, maintaining purchase and sales ledgers - through to managing the collection of payroll information, journal postings, accruals and prepayments. This role will eventually lead to an individual supporting with budgeting, forecasting and further financial analysis to allow for equally divided responsibilities between themselves and the Head of Finance.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed, you will need to be a finance professional who is willing to hit the ground running and bring a core understanding of finance and accounting principles. Working with this charity, you will have a personal interest in supporting people with mental health illnesses and positively working towards the organisation's overall values and aims. You will be someone who has previously worked in a smaller finance function and is happy to work collaboratively and cooperatively with your line manager.
