Job Description
My Nursing home client is seeking a Bookkeeper for it's Branford, CT facility. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional that has an accounting background, enjoys multi-tasking and achieves his/her goals through a hands-on approach. RESPONSIBILITIES and SKILLS
Through oversight of facility AP / AR teams, manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits, collections, payroll, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting etc. Prepare schedules and process general ledger to closing including entry adjustments, accruals, prepaid, posting cash, reconciling receivables and depreciation of fixed assets. Develop and issue monthly financial records for Executive Director and advice on financial performance related to the organizations financial goals. Participate in annual cost reporting and auditing processes with contracted accounting firm and home office representatives. Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects and capital expenditures. Create written reports and participate in strategic planning with the President and Executive Director. Interface with outside audit firms(s), banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies, and collection agencies. Provide support and back up to facility AP/ AR teams. Understand intercompany loans and allocations. Possess familiarity with Nursing Home accounting regulations and reporting requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor Degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university with three or more years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Healthcare experience highly preferred.
