Accounts assistantREPORTS TO:Accounts ManagerACCOUNTABLE TO:Accounts Manager and Managing DirectorHOURS40 hours per weekSALARYBased on qualifications and experienceSCOPE OF THE POSTTo assist the accounts manager and department in the maintenance, recording and reporting of the company's financial management systems. To undertake wider duties that contributes to the smooth running of the company's homes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPrinciple Duties and Responsibilities1.To promote at all times the positive reputation of the Home, and maintain the highest standards of integrity and accountability at work and support the Managers wherever required.
2.Reporting to the accounts manager you will support our accounts team in all aspects of transactional accounting.
3.Creation of service user files and inputting and maintaining up to date records and data on various platforms such as exchequer, spreadsheets, excel etc.
4.Processing purchase invoices, petty cash and credit card transactions including processing of supplier BACS payments.Processing Sales invoices and timely collection of debts owed to the company, resolving queries from local authorities as they arise.
5.Responsible for assisting with the preparation of month end management accounts for the various homes
6.Monthly bank reconciliation, preparing various monthly reports, and other ad hoc tasks
7.To assist in the preparation of annual budgets, spreadsheet compilation, monthly and quarterly reporting and regulatory compliance.
8.Managing service user's funds/purchases, timely recording and collection of expenses incurred on account of service users.
9.Auditing service user's finances and reporting the findings on a monthly basis.
10.To ensure regular communication between yourself and the accounts manager and other relevant parties
11.To ensure all accounts and related systems are up to date, accurate and comprehensive.
12.To ensure at all times that clear records are maintained for every financial transaction, that relevant company policies/standards are applied in processing financial transactions and making sure the financial systems comply with legal, regulatory requirements.
