We are looking for a Management Account to join our team in Darlington.
As the Management Accountant, you will facilitate the production of management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting. Whilst ensuring a number of regional accounts are produced accurately and are distributed to an agreed timeframe.
Main Responsibilities Include:
- Income review - Periodic Fee reconciliations including income adjustments to maintain the accuracy of the management accounts.
- Expense review - Review nominal codes and process any journals required to ensure the accuracy of the accounting process including, but not limited to accruals, prepayments, and year-end adjustments.
- Build relationships with home managers and deal with account queries on a timely basis and in a professional manner. Work with the Finance Business Partner to help with performance improvement within the region.
- Balance Sheet reconciliations - production, review and follow up of any queries to maintain accurate financial position.
- Assist with all people management duties, including but not exclusively; recruitment, training and effective delegation of duties. To be carried out in accordance with the Group policies and procedures.
- To assist with projects for process improvements and for more effective Management Reporting.
- Assist with budgeting process for expenditure.
Selection Criteria
- Fully/Part-Qualified Accountant desirable.
- Previous experience of working in a Management Accountant role.
- Knowledge of accounting terms and concepts, understanding of finance regulations and legislation.
- Organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of finance systems and processes and able to demonstrate forward thinking to improve the function and reporting to the business.
- Ability to develop internal and external business relationships based on mutual respect and professionalism.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Self-motivated and able to take ownership.
- Previous experience of working in a high volume department.
- Excellent presentation skills
