A Manufacturing Group is looking for a Plant Controller to act as the financial support to the Plant Director.
Client Details
My client is an innovative and forward-thinking engineering and manufacturing organisation with a key manufacturing site based in London. The company have been working to support some of the largest brands across various industries within aerospace, sport and beyond. The Plant Controller role will support the organisation in understanding and controlling all Operational Costs whilst exposing and exploiting opportunity along the way.
Description
The Plant Controller will be the number 1 finance person within the site, working closely with the MD/Plant Director to run the facility. You will work with both the Group function and the local Operations teams to report, understand and improve the impacts on bottom line.
You will also:
- Provide financial support to the manufacturing team for decision making
- Support the manufacturing team in designing and producing regular reports:
- Identify meaningful cost variances / Financial KPIs and create cost reports
- Monitor key cost variances, highlight trends, analyse causes of unexpected variances
- To manage and maintain the Company's costing system, updating costs where appropriate and allocating/absorbing fixed overheads
- Evaluating and advising the financial and cost implications of NPD.
- Involvement with product profitability or capital investment appraisal
- Management of the stock system, including stock valuation, stock usage, calculation of stock provisions and financial management of stocktakes.
- Support the Group FP&A team in delivering the manufacturing budget and forecast
- Be the main point of contact for manufacturing personnel with regards to all financial matters
Profile
As the business is a fast-paced organisation, the ideal candidate will be able to deal with the demands of a PLC environment including. The role will be the lead accountant for the site and will manage a Cost Analyst.
You will ideally also demonstrate:
- A track-record within manufacturing, ideally as a cost accountant or cost controller
- Knowledge of UK GAAP Principles relevant to manufacturing
- Experience in deriving meaningful analysis from complex data.
- Advanced Excel skills, experience with integrated ERP/MRP systems
- Articulate, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent work ethic and a productive and reliable team member
