A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Risk and Compliance professional to join an instantly recognisable and truly iconic Melbourne based organisation. This highly visible role will see you partnering with senior leadership across the business, managing day to day risk and compliance queries, developing and facilitating training session and workshops - no two days will be the same.

The Role

Reporting into the Director of Risk Management, the responsibilities of the Risk and Compliance Manager will include but limited to the following duties:
  • Prepare and write quality risk and compliance reports for Senior Leadership teams
  • Manage risk assessment activities and risk registers:
  • Conduct Operation risk assessments as needed (event/COVID)
  • Facilitate workshops and develop and deliver Risk awareness training, to promote a risk intelligent culture and to support the risk management framework.
  • Develop policies and procedures to support the implementation of risk and compliance frameworks.
  • Manage day-to-day insurance queries and activities including managing insurance claims and the collection of information for insurance renewals.
  • Maintain business continuity plans & Crisis Management.
  • Conduct second line assurance reviews to confirm control effectiveness as per annual assurance program.
  • Coordinate internal audit projects as conducted by the Internal Auditors.
  • Persuade and influence users and stakeholder to interact with the systems to ensure data integrity


Your Profile

You will have an established Risk and Compliance background ideally within the public sector and have working knowledge of the Victorian Government Risk Management Framework (advantageous, not mandatory for the role). You will have the ability to operate autonomously in your role whilst balancing competing issues and conflicting demands of internal and external stakeholders. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to run face to face workshops across the business as well as excellent written communication skills and strong report writing ability.
