RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an Accounting Specialist in Phoenix, Z. Summary: As an Accounting Specialist you will be responsible for supporting the Accounting Department by performing a variety of accounting duties such as billing, job costing, monthly accruals, reconciliations, tracking projects and preparing Financial reports. You will assist with the monthly reconciliation/certification process for the bank and holding company, including the review/verification of reconciliation of each account on the balance sheet to ensure accuracy of the general ledger. The Accounting Specialist will work with all bank employees to ensure transactions are correctly posting to the general ledger and answer general accounting questions. Duties:
  • Responsible for supporting assigned areas at the company with Accounting processes and general inquiries; Accounting Specialist provides excellent service to our internal and external customers, collaborate with others in the accounting department to ensure tasks are completed accurately
  • Prepares reconciliations of general ledger balance sheet accounts, this includes reviewing receipts, incoming expense reports and inputting or modifying information into the accounting software program; Responsible for following-up on reconciling items and researching items as appropriate
  • Accounting Specialist creates manual journal entries to the general ledger; Responsible for researching non-posted items, correcting codes where appropriate and ensuring transactions are posted properly


Job Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 1+ years of direct, related experience
  • Knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices
  • Knowledge in computer operation including word processing and spreadsheet software programs (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel, etc.)
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
