You will support a very successful Management Accountant with both month end and year end tasks, providing full training and great experience.

As Assistant Accountant you will be working with the management accountant and Finance Director on key business decisions. Description

The key responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant include:

• Working within the group timetable to assist with the full preparation of monthly financial accounts
• Monthly journals, calculation of accruals and prepayments
• Daily bank reconciliations & cash allocation.
• Maintaining FA register, monthly review of fixed assets and capital expenditure and depreciation calculations
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Manufacturing variance analysis
• Preparation of VAT return, Intrastat & national statistics surveys.
• Contact point for car leases
• Ad-hoc reporting and support with new business opportunities
• Assisting with the preparation of annual budget and forecast
• Offering support to the costing function
• Provide cover and support for other finance team when necessary
• Any other duties as may be required

Profile

The successful Assistant Accountant will have:

• Experience working within a finance function
• Confident user of Excel
• AAT qualified/degree educated or equivalent/CIMA/ACCA Studier
• The ability to work to tight monthly deadlines acurately and efficiently
• Large company background would be preferred
• Exposure within a manufacturing environment will be an advantage
• Very flexible approach to work
• Pro-activity towards business changes and process improvements
