About the branch
The Finance Division provides core support and strategic services in finance, procurement, project management office, strategic business planning and reporting. The division provides the strategies, business processes and systems to efficiently and effectively deliver these core support services to enable Parks Victoria to be financially sustainable.
About the role and your responsibilities:
As the Financial Controller, you will lead delivery of financial operations and compliance processes across Parks Victoria and assume responsibility for the delivery of efficient and effective financial accounting services that allows Parks Victoria to meet its statutory, corporate and operating obligations. Your role will be responsible for providing leadership, coaching, support and oversight to Park's Victoria's financial control functions with particular emphasis on implementing solutions to address business and management needs while also meeting compliance obligations and increasing stakeholder financial capability.
The duties of your role will include developing and implementing a contemporary financial governance and control process, enhancing systems and processes to ensure standardisation in the provision of financial functions including financial transaction services and managing and supporting the maintenance of the financial ledgers and accounting processes. You will lead the maintenance of Parks Victoria's asset register ($6 billion) and ensure all financial policies and procedures are up to date and relevant to contemporary processes, legislative compliance and accounting standards. Your role will support the organisation's corporate priorities and enable optimal allocation and responsible use of financial resources.
To be successful for this role you will need:

* Demonstrated experience in a financial leadership role in managing the operational requirements within Victorian Public Sector.
* A confident communicator and lateral thinker, with highly developed change management and technical accountings skills and a proven stakeholder management background.
* Demonstrated evidence in superior management of people and performance standards that enable successful achievement of the organisation's corporate and business plans and objectives.
* A tertiary qualification in finance or accounting, together with a full membership of a professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or ICAA required.
* A current Employee Working with Children Check is required.
