The Management accountant will report to the Superintendent Management Accounting and is responsible for support in the planning, implementation and reporting on financial business optimisation and performance.
Key responsibilities will include:

* Compiling accurate financial and management accounting reports for periodic management packs within specified time lines.
* Preparing annual budgets based on business planning horizons and ensuring that the plan is appropriately stretched and aligned to business production plans.
* Preparing periodic rolling forecasts covering production volumes, revenue, cost, margin and profitability as informed by monthly forecasting in place.
* Communicating the analysis and drawing insight and highlighting areas where performance targets are not achieved.
* Liaise with allocated business areas to ensure the business area is fully engaged and understands its role with regard to planned data submission.
* Variance and other analyses of performance against plan in order to assist line management with financial control as and when required.
* Providing input into the risk analysis of the business strategy and identify areas of improvement.
* Conducting regular analysis of divisional and departmental performance including operating costs.
* Measuring and providing commentary on forecast variance to facilitate decision making and to ensure that the forecast remain accurate and robust.
* Raising and posting of journals including accruals and provisions for period closure processes;
* Engaging with key stakeholders and assist in the preparation of financial and operational reports inclusive of all reporting time lines.
* Monthly preparation of supplier and balance sheet reconciliations.

Qualifications & Experience:

* Bachelor of Commerce with specialisation in management accounting or accounting science.
* 3 years management accounting experience in a mining or manufacturing environment.
* High-level computer skills, including MS Office, Excel and Word.
* Working knowledge CO and FI module of SAP.
