About us | Ko wai mātou
At Waka Kotahi, the NZ Transport Agency, it all starts with our people. The organisation's performance and success depends on the people who choose to make this a great place to work and make a difference for Aotearoa. The Transport Agency has a strong future focus, understanding that new technologies and changing customer expectations mean the transport system we know today will not be the one we deliver in ten years' time.
The Transport Services business group's aim is to provide, improve and maintain the land transport system to effectively enable transport services. Our focus is to design and deliver an integrated transport system for all New Zealanders.

The Principal Relationship and Investment Advisor works closely with programme planners and managers, funding advisors and senior decision makers within Local Government to provide investment advice and assurance on regional programmes and projects that will positively impact how communities live and move about.
In conjunction with our regional and local authority partners, you will provide clear and consistent investment advice at all stages of the Waka Kotahi's Business Case Approach. As the Principal Relationship and Investment Advisor, you will be supporting and enabling our partners to plan and deliver innovative and future-focused integrated transport solutions.
As the Principal Relationship and Investment Advisor, you will draw on your experience gained from either the private or non-commercial sector. You will have exceptional communication skills and act as a trusted advisor, providing assurance that investments are value for money and meeting Waka Kotahi's, and Government, strategic objectives. This is a great opportunity to own and support the transport investment assurance process, and to lead and drive good business practices and broader social outcomes.
You will be a highly skilled subject matter expert and provide guidance and expertise to colleagues and wider sector partners to inform their decision making. A confident self-starter, you will thrive working collaboratively to achieve successful transport outcomes.
