Enterprise Services (ES) is responsible for the world leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of CommBank, from innovative product platforms for our customers to essential tools within our business. We also use technology to drive efficient and timely processing, an essential component of great customer service.

The Group Operations Strategic Projects team supports the delivery of transformative change across Group Operations & Technology (GO&T) - a division of Enterprise Services. Our function consists of a range of delivery professional who apply agile project management principles to deliver exceptional benefits for our business and customers.

About your role
Business Analysts in the Group Operations Strategic Projects team are required to work within the delivery framework of Commonwealth Bank's- a single, flexible and configurable framework, supporting business agility across various delivery styles (e.g. agile, iterative, waterfall or lean start up), adaptable to the specific change required.

As a Business Analyst, your core tasks include, but are not limited to:
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct sets the standards of behaviour, actions and decisions we expect from our people.
  • Identify relevant stakeholders, select appropriate techniques and processes to derive and manage requirements.
  • Assess and document the current state of business functions and processes to identify and recommend improvements, including application of User and customer journeys.
  • Lead requirements elicitation, including workshops to capture requirements. Constructively challenge stated requirements.
  • Articulate requirements and communicate business and customer value to the project delivery / scrum team. Help establish success criteria.
  • Contribute to the conversion of business and customer needs into functional designs.
  • Define problems and opportunities. Perform data analysis that can be used to support or challenge business initiatives.
  • Support the project delivery / scrum team to break down work and translate requirements into functional specifications using appropriate method (e.g. backlog creation, user stories, as-built functional documentation etc.).
  • Contribute to assessment of dependencies and associated risk and compliance implications of requirements and solutions.
  • Support business verification testing activities.
  • Effectively communicating requirements to stakeholders, managing conflicts, issues and changes in order to ensure that stakeholders and project team members remain in agreement on solution scope.

  • Minimum two years' experience in a similar role of Business Analysts or Process Improvements.
  • Ability to build business requirements, design and implement new processes.
  • Ability to identify areas of opportunity in existing process analysis/design.
  • Strong process mapping, process improvement and documentation skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a strong customer focus.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Data analysis and problem solving skills.
  • The capacity to work in a busy, commercial, competitive environment and the ability to meet objectives and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Microsoft Office suite skills, particularly in Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and background in compliance and operational risk management.


Desirable:

Prior experience within a similar role within Banking/Financial Services/Lending industries.

  • The ability to travel to South Eveleigh, Sydney to support onsite activities when required is desirable (subject to COVID)
  • If based interstate, requirement to travel to Sydney once a quarter at business expense is required (subject to COVID)
