Responsible for managing the annual budget process, developing / maintaining forecast models, and analysis for the local company. Develop, interpret, and implement complex financial and accounting concepts, or techniques for financial planning and control.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Forecasting, Budgeting & Monthly Financial Close
    • Partners with Sr. and departmental leaders to oversee the budget creation and periodic forecasting
    • Develops cost/benefit analyses and staffing needs for key strategies or initiatives
    • Participates and develops company-wide business plan and strategies
    • Assists in performing monthly reporting around our financial close and variance analysis to budget or forecast
  • SG&A management
    • Manage the reporting and analysis of SG&A month end close
    • Research and understand business operations to identify cost cutting initiatives
    • Lead, track, and follow up with Sr. leaders on SG&A efficiency initiatives
    • Oversee the improvement of SG&A management reporting on a detailed and segmented basis to ensure cost tracking and containment with Sr. leaders
    • Partner with operational Sr. leaders to assist in setting statistical metrics to enhance awareness of operational performance and decisions around FTE management
  • Acquisition Analysis and Presentation
    • Perform detailed financial and qualitative analysis on potential acquisitions of provider groups and network deals
    • Perform valuation analyses, including multi-year discounted cash flow calculations, and analyses of tax return information
  • Capital Reporting and Analysis
    • Participate and oversee month end capital closing process
    • Assist in capital project cost development and ongoing cost tracking
    • Maintain master files of capital projects, track capital funding status

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or accounting
  • 5+ years of progressive professional experience in finance and/or accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Advanced / Expert knowledge with Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA license or MBA
  • Experience with Hyperion database and PeopleSoft
  • Leadership experience with ability to develop others and create a positive team-based work environment
  • Executive presence with strong communications and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders (ability to translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences)
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Adapt to a fast-paced environment and multi-task under pressure
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Strong analytical abilities and an understanding of cost accounting principles and the relationship between revenues, expenses, and volume of service
  • Problem solver, detail oriented, reliable, and a self-starter

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
