Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this role is to provide system maintenance and complex and specialised payroll functions for employees to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing and associated reporting.

Mandatory Qualifications
  • Qualifications in finance or demonstratable equivalent experience


Knowledge & Experience
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 year experience working as a Payroll Officer within a large and complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of high-quality payroll services.
  • Payroll Reconciliations, End Of Month and End Of Year experience.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems and direct banking facilities.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven experience in face to face customer service or information provision in a customer centric payroll environment.


Responsibilities and Authority

  • Delivery of timely and accurate updating of payroll, leave and other relevant payroll information and ensuring compliance with relevant Awards, Enterprise Agreements and legislative requirements.
  • Undertaking a range of complex functions associated with payroll systems and/or services that are consistent with Keolis Downer strategies, policies and priorities.
  • Analyse timesheets; update and maintain all payroll records in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Ensure PAYG, Payroll Tax, Workcover, Superannuation and employee deduction payments are made correctly and in a timely manner, with appropriate reconciliations.
  • Interpret awards and agreements accurately to ensure proper overtime and allowance payments
  • Responding to pay queries in a timely manner and contributing to a high standard of customer service for internal and external clients, quality management and risk.
  • Undertaking a range of functions associated with assigned discrete projects, systems and/or services including coordinating and/or controlling related processes, provisions and information
  • Assist and carry out with investigations, preparing reports with recommendations, maintaining records and systems and contributing to the development of services and projects and performance benchmarking.
  • Other duties as required from time to time.

  • Well-developed people skills including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, always handle sensitive or difficult issues with tact and diplomacy and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
