Job Details

Visions are seeking a dynamic Accountant, who in addition to managing the financial operations of the business, has the drive to develop the role into a  more strategic role, providing financial and business value to the company.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of  management accounts each month for all group companies
  • Oversee financial department assistant and other administration staff
  • Monitor and execute the day-to-day financial operations within the company such as invoicing, bank payments, bank account monitoring & reconciliation and other transactions
  • Prepare and submit statutory returns such as PAYE, VAT, Provisional Tax, Employment Equity, COIDA
  • Present financial reports to board members, stakeholders and executives in formal meetings
  • Develop working relationships with company bankers and auditors
  • Run the annual financial audit including interfacing with appointed auditors, reconciling financial positions, preparing financial drafts
  • Run the annual BEE audit including calculation of BEE annual contributions, score card analysis and modelling, liaising with external BEE consultants and the  appointed verification agency
  • Provide statutory and or financial information in support of the customer tendering and or supplier procurement processes.
  • Running Monthly Payroll including coordination of consultant timesheet information with bookkeeper, liaising with payroll consultancy and company executives to ensure timely efficient execution of payroll
  • Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making
  • Stay up to date with technological advances, accounting and reporting software to be used for financial purposes
  • Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company
  • Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
  • Track the company's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement
  • Seek out methods for minimising financial risk to the company
