Job Introduction

We are looking to recruit a level 4 finance apprentice this is an opportunity to grow your finance and commercial skills at the same time as growing your analytical abilities. You’ll work towards your apprenticeship whilst gaining practical experience.

You’ll support our business teams and develop your skills in finance. Working with the finance team to, you’ll learn how to create billing packs, generate Invoices, complete reconciliations, review accounts for accuracy, complete accruals and prepayments and help to improve our performance, processes and procedures.

Studying through day release you’ll be working towards level 4 Professional Accounting certification, the equivalent of the first year of university study.  We will provide you with a Level 4 CIMA apprentice (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) qualification. CIMA is an internationally recognised professional qualification that provides the fundamental knowledge you need to build a successful career in business or finance, and helps you develop the critical skills.

Role Responsibility

  • Maintain accurate records of client POs to support the timely recharging of rechargeable works
  • Support in the creation of recharge packs for adhoc works.
  • Support the raising and distributing Adhoc sales invoicing for Hard & Soft Services.
  • Monitor and respond to invoice queries, escalating where appropriate
  • Support the accurate maintenance of the finance system including the maintenance of open PMOs.
  • Logging and maintaining records of voucher transaction in retail outlets
  • Logging and maintaining records of additional telecoms sales
  • Support in the maintenance of the rechargeable hour log
  • Support in the maintenance of records relating to car parking deductions
  • Support the site cash & bank processes including reconciliations in periods of absence, completing audits of data and cash investigations
  • Reconciling supplier statements to system entries and escalate payment queries
  • Supporting in the monthly reconciliation of GRNI for both hard and soft services.         
  • Support the finance manager in preparation of budgetary information
  • Support the implementation and on-going delivery of Sodexo and Healthcare segment strategies as required, ensuring effective change management
  • Adopt a flexible and team working approach and to perform your duties and being prepared to be involved with Projects or other Adhoc work as and when it arises.
  • Any reasonable management requests

The Ideal Candidate

Finance affects all aspect of the organisation so you’re going to need to be able to communicate well with people at every level across it and you will need to demonstrate a passion for finance along with a strong motivation for the role.

  • You must also have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSE (grades or equivalent) at grades 5 or higher which must include English Language (not literature) and Maths at grade 5 or above.
  • Must have/be predicted to achieve a minimum of 100 UCAS points
  • You cannot be a graduate or already hold a Level 4 qualification for the Finance Apprenticeship (i.e. AAT, CIMA, CIPFA, HNC, HND, Foundation Degree etc)
