About the role

The Senior Systems Business Analyst will join the Platform Owner in helping bring AMP and their customers on the transformation journey. This role involves working with system business analysts, engineers, architects and product support teams on the delivery of system implementations, enhancements & maintenance projects using agile and waterfall delivery methodologies. This role will provide business process & application functional advice, estimate, design and develop solutions working individually and leading teams, and take ownership and delivery of software and solutions.

Key responsibilities

Strategy and Planning
  • Ensure AMP keeps pace with market best practice with respect to asset currency, cost, quality and service and continue to most efficiently meet the changing needs of the business.
  • Define portfolio specific standards, frameworks, customer journeys and processes.
  • Ensure compliance to platform service design and service catalogue maintenance including new services development.

Delivery & Delivery Management
  • Deliver system implementations, enhancements, maintenance and upgrade projects, working with system business analysts, engineers, architects and product support teams.
  • Create estimations, proposals and project plans for new system implementations, enhancements and maintenance projects.
  • Provide business process and application functional advice drawing upon their expertise and experience and design & develop solutions that meet current and future needs, working individually and leading teams.
  • Responsible for functional ownership and delivery of software, whilst ensuring established methods and standards are followed.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to identify and document direction, functional and technical requirements.
  • Work closely with business users to document functional requirements and user acceptance test plans as required.
  • Perform testing and co-ordinate the execution of user acceptance testing.
  • Document and track project changes, risks and issues through resolution.
  • Ensure all deliverables are documented and are supportable.
  • Communicate changes to requirements and projects to all stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the overall simplification of applications.
  • Support - you will be an expert in the services provided and willing to support the team for any high priority issues. Post resolving any issues you will immediately turn your attention to prevention, and how similar issues any be avoided in future.
  • Knowledge Management - Develop and maintain up to date documentation. Actively share knowledge with other team members to achieve outcomes and grow our organisational capability.

Capabilities & Experience
  • Strong experience and background in implementing and supporting enterprise applications, and other large custom-built applications in at least some of the following areas - Finance systems, Human Resources, Reconciliation, Banking, Taxation, Commissions, Treasury and Legal applications.
  • Experience with Tier 1 ERP, Finance, PeopleSoft applications and HR SaaS (Software as a Service) applications is highly desirable.
  • You will need to demonstrate a blend of functional, technical and business knowledge, show experience in working on a diverse range of applications and technologies and evidence the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • The candidate must have a passion for technology, excellent communication skills and the flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications with extensive IT experience, Financial services experience would be beneficial.
  • Deep understanding of ITIL practices and principles.
  • Tertiary qualifications in computer science, engineering, business or other relevant qualification.
