Senior Accountant - Norwalk, CT
Position Responsibilities
Our client, a leading corporate communications firm headquartered in Norwalk, CT, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting & Finance team. The successful candidate must have strong General Accounting experience as well as be able to learn new processes quickly and generate solutions. This role will be responsible for the following:
Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
Month-end, Quarterly and Year-End close - includes creating and entering journal entries, performing general ledger account variance analysis and reconciliations for both Balance Sheet and P&L accounts
Treasury/Banking
Reconciliation of all cash accounts on a weekly and monthly basis
Processing of wires, ACH's and positive pay for operating, investments, loans and letters of credit
Familiarity with Loans, letters of credit and bank covenants
Familiarity with various banking platforms
Cash management
Uploading payment files, wires, and ACH's to the bank for approval
Assist with annual external audit, including preparation of audit request items and schedules
Assist with annual tax filings, including preparation of tax requests and schedules
Assist with budgeting and forecasting process
Assist with payroll processing, as needed
Special projects, as needed
Education, Experience and Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA a plus
Minimum 4-5 years of experience with at least 2 years of Public Accounting experience (Public/Private Mix preferred)
Solid understanding of GAAP
