We are looking for a Public Accounts and Audit Analyst who is passionate about influencing and promoting public sector reform and accountability ensuring that government account for their operating policies and actions, and their management and use of public resources.
About the role
Reporting to the Lead Analyst, Public Accounts and Audit, you will assist in fulfilling the Committee's statutory functions in relation to the Victorian Auditor-General's Office (VAGO) and the Parliamentary Budget Office including follow up of VAGO audit and own motion inquiries.
The role is responsible for:
• reviewing VAGO performance audit specifications and draft annual plan and budget.
• reviewing the operational plan, resourcing, and draft budget of the Parliamentary Budget Office; and
• planning inquiries, undertaking research, and drafting Committee reports.
This is an ideal opportunity for an individual with extensive experience in undertaking audits or complex investigations, inquiries, or reviews.
About You
You will be adept at identifying, analysing, and synthesising complex issues, and conflicting evidence and data. Your communication and interpersonal skills will be a strength, as is your capacity to be flexible and respond well to change. You will be tertiary qualified with a good working knowledge of Australian and Victorian auditing practices and standards and relevant legislative frameworks. You will be proficient at preparing succinct, high quality written analysis on complex issues for a non-technical audience.
