Chief Investment Officer at Bidvest Bank
The primary purpose of this role is to provide research and analysis of the local Fixed Income markets and to provide recommendations of investments as part ofthe investment process. The Manager would be responsible for the portfolio management of a Money Market and Fixed Income Fund, as well as oversee theinvestment team. The CIO will also be responsible for managing the multimanager strategy.
These may include, but not be limited to:
* Analyse fixed income instruments for inclusion in fixed income funds and portfolios.
* Analyse credit exposures and form views on sector fundamentals.
* Provide ongoing updates on credit positions.
* Participate in fixed income strategy formation.
* Assist in preparation of written content to support fixed income strategies, provide regular updates on these portfolios on performances, providing steps taken to mitigate risks and underperformances, when needed.
* Make recommendations and assist with implementation of fixed income investment fund strategies in all fixed income funds and portfolios within the given investment and regulatory guidelines.
* Be part of the process to ensure that all fixed income funds and portfolios outperform given return targets and reference benchmarks within approved investment mandates and guidelines.
* Build and maintain highly effective relationships with internal Bidvest Financial Services.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Relevant bachelor's [URL Removed] degree, with Honours preferred.
* Fit and Proper requirements under FAIS and be eligible to be on a licence as a Representative and KI.
* Other relevant post graduate qualifications.
Experience
Applicants should ideally have a minimum of 5 years' experience in analysing the local fixed income markets, having worked with all fixed income instruments including but not limited to money market instruments, bonds, swaps, options & derivatives.

* Ability to work as a team member.
* Ability to manage a number of functions within an asset management business.
* High level of integrity and strong ethical standards.
