Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
As a Senior Business Analyst/Adviser you will support our directorates to build their business capability towards Operational Excellence.
As a team, we partner closely with frontline services to design related services, products and systems which meet their needs. The scope of the role includes but not limited to:

* Develop and design new services or workplace processes or tools.
* Measure and analyse to provide evidence-based insights so Directors can make informed decisions on what needs to change.
* Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of staff, processes and procedures across the Directorate using proven process improvement methodologies.
* Mentor your peers through continuous improvement
* Create meaningful information and visualisation that enables confidence in decision-making practice.
* Develop performance measurement tools that promote early intervention advice in the management against potential risks

Mōu - About You
We are keen to tap into a range of advanced skillsets, specifically:

* A strong analytical capability.
* Postgraduate in business and/or economics is desired.
* A strong influencer who can promote the adoption of innovative best practice from frontline and senior managers.
* A clear understanding of core components of business and how to create effective change management for exceptional service delivery.
* An able practitioner of process management techniques such as Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen.

Intelligence & Biosecurity Support Services is a directorate that forms part of the Biosecurity New Zealand Branch and is responsible for providing a range of services that support the work undertaken within Biosecurity New Zealand and wider MPI.

Salary - Utu
The salary for this role is circa $75k to $108k depending on skills and experience.

Confidential Security Clearance

* most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided continuously in NZ for at least the last five (5) years, OR
* is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five (5) years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
