We are currently on the look out for a Senior Accountant to join a friendly team within a firm based North of the River. The position will suit an Accountant with around 5+ years local Public Practice TAX/BAS experience that is looking to grow their career within an environment that is passionate not just about the numbers but also about making a positive impact in the community. They provide holistic services with several arms to the business and as such offer exposure to a varied SME workload that you may not find in a standard Tax/BAS firm and the opportunity for progression in what is a growing firm.
The role will report to the Tax Manager and will be leading one of the internal teams concentrating on reviewing the teams work, supervision and mentorship of staff, and working on larger clients compliance work.
Duties include but not limited to:

• Preparation of Financial Statements and Tax Returns
• Tax Planning
• Supervision, review of work & mentorship of fellow staff members
• Working closely with the Manager, Directors and Tax Team
• SMSF
• BAS / IAS / FBT
• Bookkeeping - Xero / MYOB / QB
• Assisting clients with any queries promptly & accurately
• Liaising with the ATO or other third parties on behalf of clients where required
• Client correspondence via phone, email and face to face

Requirements:

• 5+ years local experience within a Public Practice position within BAS/TAX
• HandiSuite exposure advantageous but not a must
• Xero Practice exposure advantageous
• Able to assist clients with Bookkeeping queries
• Degree qualified
• Preferably CPA/CA qualified to help mentor junior staff progressing through studies
• Excellent communication skills are a must - written & verbal
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Have excellent time management skills and be well organised to meet internal/external requirements & deadlines
• Be able to work autonomously
• Team orientated individual who is process improvement driven
